Picture this; a long one story home sitting on acreage with beautiful trees. Contrasting exterior colors, shutters, tons of windows and a full-length front porch. This is what I was looking for when I was shopping for my first home this past year. I was lucky enough to find a home that was pretty close!
When I began touring the homes for sale I focused on the layout and use of space, not the details; I knew I would change those to my Farmhouse preferences. Being able to have a vision for what something could be is so important in home buying.
Pulling up to the house it had the contrast in colors, a precious front porch and a large window framed stunning front door.
As we walked into the house it already had some details that I really appreciated. The entry had a barrel white punched tin ceiling with a dainty antique chandelier. The whole house had windows all over with beautiful sunlight shining in. The half bath downstairs had a reclaimed old door that added a lot of character, and the upstairs flooring was reclaimed long leaf pine out of an old barn in Fredericksburg.
I was so excited that I had found a home that had so much of the character that I was looking for. I knew I could make it into my own personalized Farmhouse!
